  • The Wandering Heart

    IMG_7485.JPG
    Infidelity. Cheating. Affair. Adultery.

Not uncommon words in our society. Possibly not uncommon in our life experience.

One set of statistics I looked at claimed 30 to 60 percent of marriages have at least one partner who has been involved in an extramarital affair.

Extramarital. Even the word doesn’t make sense.

Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman; a husband and wife. The oath of the covenant, the marriage vows, stipulates each party will love, honor, and protect the other; no matter what circumstances may arise.

To protect is to guard against an intruder, an interloper. Which would include someone trying to drive a wedge between the husband and wife.

“So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Matthew 19:6 ESV)

“Let not man (or woman) separate…”

Why would a person, man or woman, allow someone to break up their marriage?

Oh, I’m sure you’ve heard the excuses, er, uh, I mean, the reasons why.

In case you haven’t, here are a few:

    “He works all the time…”

“She’s not as attractive as she used to be…”

“My husband doesn’t understand me like ______ does…”

“She makes me feel young again…”

“He’s so tender and kind, and loves me like my husband used to…”

“My wife nags me all the time! _______ is so much fun to be around…”

No man ever leaves his wife for another woman because his wife isn’t pretty enough or sexy enough.

Women don’t jump up and take another woman’s husband just because it was “love at first sight”.

If a man has wandering eyes, it’s because he has a wandering heart. Same thing with a woman who has problems honoring the covenant with her husband.

The wandering heart is an unguarded heart. It’s a heart that really hasn’t committed itself to a “for better or worse” covenant relationship.

The wandering heart hasn’t disciplined it’s eyes, ears, mind, or hands to faithfully love only one person.

If my eyes look at other women, even as “eye candy”, my heart is unguarded. It’s shod with wandering shoes; it only needs an opportunity.

If I allow another woman to speak to me as only my wife should, again, my heart’s getting ready to wander.

Unprotected thoughts, curious thoughts that take us to forbidden places lead the way for the wandering heart.

The wandering heart is a lying heart. It always wants to shift the blame for its infidelity to someone else, or to some other reason. It despises the truth.

Truth is what the wandering heart needs for protection, or for restoration.

If you’ve ever had your spouse tell you you’re no longer good enough, please understand this truth; you will never be “good enough” to compete with a wandering heart.
    Don’t beat yourself up.

Rather, let the peace of God rule in your heart. Protect your heart with the truth of God’s word. And trust Him for a miracle.

That your man/woman will be delivered from the wandering heart.

  • Educated Fool

    IMG_7477.JPG
I’m really not out to make anyone mad with this post. Honestly, I’m not.

    I’m not anti-education. I’m not anti-school, anti-learning, or anti-study.

I am anti-stupidity, anti-ignorance, and anti-anything that would hinder someone from a genuine walk of faith.

    Faith in Jesus.

Some folks don’t get it. But it’s nothing new. It was that way in Jesus’ day.

“About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. The Jews therefore marveled, saying, ‘How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied’” (John 7:14-15 ESV)

People couldn’t figure out how Jesus could have understood so much. After all, He hadn’t gone to their fine, elite and expensive school.

Thank God for schools! It’s great to develop good study disciplines, and the school structure helps people build those habits into their lives.

But there are many things we need to learn that can’t be taught in a school.

Faith, hearing the voice of God, spiritual gifts and manifestations, prayer and intercession are just some of the things you’ll never master in a classroom setting.

Of course the principles regarding the aforementioned topics can be taught, but the real learning comes by putting the Word into practice.

The Apostles of old were recognized as ignorant, uneducated, common men. Yet they astonished the educated elite of their day because they not only knew more about things which truly mattered; they knew God!

And it left the others speechless.

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus. But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.” (Acts 4:13-14 ESV)

It’s not a sin to be educated. But don’t trade your childlike faith for it.

Notice what the Apostle Paul wrote:

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:25-29 ESV)

Paul was one of the most educated men of his day. Yet he learned that all of man’s wisdom isn’t worth a plug nickel compared to the wisdom which comes from God.

Paul didn’t throw away all he had learned prior to coming to faith in Christ. But he knew that whatever he learned by the spirit of revelation must take precedence over everything else.

Long, long ago, hundreds of years before Christ, there lived a young Hebrew man named Daniel. He was part of the group King Nebuchadnezzar took to Babylon after he conquered Judah.
Old Nebuchadnezzar didn’t want to waste good talent, so he set aside the nice looking, educated, cream of the crop young men for extra schooling to “teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans.” (Daniel 1:4 ESV)

Daniel’s keeper, the one responsible for his education and overall well being, had been instructed by the king to give the Hebrew young men the same foods to eat as their captors. Which, according to God’s word, was strictly forbidden.

It wasn’t as though Daniel was turning up his nose at the plate full of pork ribs, saying, “I don’t like that!”

    Daniel’s faith was being challenged.

He asked his keeper to allow a test, letting him and his Hebrew friends eat foods compatible with their faith. The keeper agreed to a ten day test.

“At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king’s food. So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

“As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.” (Daniel 1:15-20 ESV)

Ten times better. Because Daniel kept his faith perspective, and didn’t cave in to the world’s pressure.

“Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.” (Psalm 119:97-100 ESV)

God’s not against you going to school and learning all you can.

But whatever is not of faith is sin. So, whatever you spend time and money learning, keep faith in God and His word as your mind’s gatekeeper. Let it help you use your newly attained knowledge.

    Don’t be an educated fool.

  • Sloppy Joe Christians

IMG_7473.JPGI just love Sloppy Joes. Do you?

There are a number of ways to make them. Here’s just one that I found on the Internet.

Take a couple pounds of 93% lean hamburger, and mix in some onion, catsup, brown sugar, garlic, green pepper, salt, ground black pepper, mustard, and (if you really want to make it interesting) a partridge in a pear tree.

Just kidding on the last part.

For the specifics, you can click on this link – http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/24264/sloppy-joes-ii/

Yes indeed. I love Sloppy Joes.

Maybe I should put it a different way. I like what I call Sloppy Joes.

I may not like what YOU refer to as Sloppy Joe’s. It depends on what you put in them.

Or, the amount of mustard you squirt into the mix. Mustard. Yuck and gag!

By now you’re probably wondering what the title, Sloppy Joe Christians, has to do with anything you’d slap between two slices of bread. Right?

Just this. When you or someone you know is preparing something to eat, something such as Sloppy Joes, following the recipe is somewhat essential, but not entirely.

    What do I mean?

Recipes can be altered to one’s preferred taste. More salt, less brown sugar, leave the mustard out (my preference); there are probably hundreds of variations possible just by simply making it to suit one’s particular taste buds.

And yet the sandwich is still called a Sloppy Joe.

So what’s a Sloppy Joe Christian?

It’s someone who takes the main ingredients and alters them to suit their particular taste.

However, I don’t believe God’s Word was ever designed to be treated as just an old recipe book.

He said what He meant, and meant what He said.

Sin is evil. Evil is sin.

Disciples of Jesus walk, talk, and believe like Jesus; at least they’re trying to, with God’s help.

God’s grace was never intended to be a license to live any old way we choose without repercussions. It was never meant to be like some herbicide that eradicates the tares we sow into our lives.

Yes, His mercy endures forever, but so does His word. Jesus said:

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35 ESV)

    The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8 ESV)

Of course, everyone has the right to believe anything they want. No argument there.

But when it comes right down to it, there’s only one way to walk with God.

    His way.

Read the Bible. All of it. You’ll discover He’s very clear about what we should believe, and what we shouldn’t.

Like I said, if you’re making a sandwich, then make one YOU’LL enjoy eating.

But if you’re going to call yourself a Christian, please stick to God’s word.

That’s one thing that’s not been left up to our discretion, preference, or “spiritual taste buds”.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV)

  • Craigslist Christianity

IMG_7468.JPGOne can find just about anything on Craigslist. Boats, cars, guitars, keyboards, pool tables, and lots of other stuff.

Why, you can even find people on Craigslist.

    I’m not lying.

Most of what you’ll see advertised are used items; things no longer wanted or needed by the seller.

Things the seller has no more use for.

It wouldn’t surprise me to someday see a listing that reads something like this:

“For Sale: one old rugged cross, complete with blood stains. Nails are available for an extra five dollars. Also must sell my set of beliefs, doctrines, and dogmas covering everything from the bodily resurrection of Jesus to the Glorious Appearing.

“For the true collector, I will throw in such religious relics as beliefs about the Holy Spirit, an actual place called “Hell”, and the Great White Throne Judgment.

“I’ve been collecting for years and have come to realize these items are no longer necessary.

“Will negotiate price, and all items must go. I no longer have the storage space I once had.”

Maybe there’ll never be a listing like the one I just mentioned, but there might as well be. Because for too long people have been trading the beliefs they once held dear, which were tried and true, for something foreign to the Gospel of Jesus.

People who were once sold out for God have seemingly sold out God.

Not everyone, of course. But too many, that’s for sure.

The old landmarks, the ancient property lines, have been moved. To former “collectors”, it was too much work keeping the property maintained. So move the fence, get rid of the extra land, and make the maintenance task that much easier. There! No fuss, no muss.

However, there may come a time when the land being sold is really needed. Like, at the end of one’s life. Or when trouble or tribulation arise.

“You shall not move your neighbor’s landmark, which the men of old have set, in the inheritance that you will hold in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.” (Deuteronomy 19:14 ESV)

“Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set.” (Proverbs 22:28 ESV)

Yes, it’s true. People get rid of things they believe they’ll never use again. And that’s alright.

Just don’t let yourselves buy into the Craigslist Christianity way of living.

Because it’s no way to live.

  • The Anointing Is Missing

    IMG_7466.JPG

    Something’s missing.

I realize people may think I’m a goofball for saying this, but I’ll say it anyway.

    Something’s missing.

When I tell you what it is you may try and correct me by telling me I should have said “SomeONE” is missing; because the Spirit of God is a Person.

What’s missing? The Anointing of God.

    The Anointing is missing!

The Spirit of God isn’t missing; He’s here and will be for some time. But His tangible magnificence, the kind that changes lives, breaks addictions, and destroys all the works of the devil is, by and large, missing.

    It’s not God’s fault.

    It’s our fault.

    It’s the church’s fault.

It has nothing to do with a politician’s sin, or Planned Parenthood’s ruthless and unconscionable practices.

It’s not the result of liberalism creeping into the church. And yes, liberalism is making great inroads into the church.

But that isn’t why the anointing is missing.

If the anointing was evident, as it was in the early days of the church, hell would be rocked back on its heels, trying to find some way to put out the flame of God’s Spirit.

But for all practical purposes, the flame’s extinguished.

    It’s missing.

    Why?

It’s not because pastors wear jeans, drink coffee, or have a piercing or tattoo.

So why isn’t there as much evidence of Heaven’s power today, as in days of old?

Well, primarily because we, the church, don’t need it.

We’ve developed better ways to reach the masses and build our churches.

We really have a much better understanding of life’s difficulties than say, a hundred years ago.

There’s really no need to humble ourselves before God any longer.

We’ve got it all figured out.

And that’s why the anointing is missing.

Yes, God has always had a remnant. There have always been people who don’t have any qualms about taking God at His word.

And there are people like that today.

But before you pat yourself on the back, or high five your deacon board, ask yourself this:

Are we experiencing ALL God has?

If you believe you are, then I’m sorry for you. Pride and arrogance have found their way into your heart.

But if you believe there’s more, as I do, then the next step is the step of faith and humility.

He fills those who are emptied of self and are hungry for His ways.

And He is STILL able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or even think.

And THAT is what we need.

Here are some words to a little song I wrote years ago, along with a few supporting scriptures.

    “There is an anointing,

    Your precious anointing,

    It heals the broken-hearted,

    And sets the captives free.

    It’s like a river flowing,

    The lowest places filling,

    Yielded hearts receiving,

    Your precious anointing.

You fill the hungry with good things,

The humble receive from Your hand

We acknowledge our need for Your blessing,

Fill up our hearts, heal all our pain,

    We don’t look to ourselves,

    But call on Your Name…

    We need your anointing,

    Your precious anointing.

“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” (Psalm 107:9 ESV)

“he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.” (Luke 1:53 ESV)

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;” (Isaiah 61:1 ESV)

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38 ESV)

  • Get Mad

    IMG_7461.PNG

Let me ask you a simple, hopefully non-threatening, question. Okay?

Have you ever been so mad at someone, for whatever reason, that you stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind you?

    Yes?

    Great!

No, it’s not great that you lost your temper, broke the door, and scared the daylights out of every one else in the room.

    Not cool.

But it’s great that you have a basic understanding as to how to beat the devil at his temptation game.

    Huh?!

Really. You see, if I would get mad at the audacity of the devil attempting to peddle his junk at my door, I might not be so apt to answer it when he comes knocking.

If you and I would let anger serve us well instead of destroying the ones we love, we’d enjoy life a lot more; and people might even enjoy hanging out with us more.

    Check this out:

“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,” (Ephesians 4:26 ESV)

Look again at the first part of the verse:

“Be angry and do not sin…”

    See what I’m saying?

Yes, most of us know it’s not necessarily a sin to get angry. But hear me on this…

…sometimes you end up sinning because you didn’t get mad enough!

Get mad at the right thing, and the right person. Slam the door on the devil. Slam the door on the trash he’s selling.

Get mad enough to shut off the TV. Get mad enough to pull the plug on your computer. Get mad enough to run to God for help. Get mad enough to read your bible. Get mad! Get madder than you’ve been when you ended up opening the door to see who’s knocking.

Get mad, slam the door, and do not sin.

Or, get mad enough to fix your eyes on Jesus.

Yep. You already know how to get angry. Now use it for something productive.

Get mad and do not sin.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 ESV)

  • Delusional Strongholds

IMG_7450.JPGThere’s a fine line between perception and delusion.

One definition of perception is: “the way you think about or understand someone or something.”

Delusion, on the other hand, is: “a belief that is not true : a false idea.”

What happens when a person perceives something as truth, and ignores every ounce of evidence which indicates otherwise?

    Maybe nothing at first.

But if the untruths are continually reinforced in one’s mind with other tidbits of information (though the thoughts and understandings are “real”), the perception becomes a delusion.

Which, by the way, is nothing more than a mental prison. A prison, a stronghold, that will not allow visitors without careful screening.

Delusional folks mean well. Of course in their minds, they are correct in all of their assessments, and in every detail. Their memory has been infected with a virus, allowing them to remember only certain things, and only from a certain slant or bias.

The delusional cannot be talked out of their belief, nor will they yield an inch when confronted.

There is only one way to deal with such people. Pray that the stronghold of delusion be destroyed by the power and word of God.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ…” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV)

Delusional strongholds destroy one’s true peace, and relationships with others.

Delusional strongholds hold people at arms length from the truth; the truth which would set them free. They may have glimpses of the truth, but because they’re comfortable and feel safe within the confines of their own reasoning, they won’t venture out or let others in.

Hell is filled with the deluded.

Protecting oneself from potential delusion is really basic.

    1. Understand no one can know everything.

    2. Seeing isn’t necessarily believing.

    3. Just because you think it doesn’t make it so.

    4. Though you don’t remember something, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

    5. Gather ALL the evidence before locking your mind down on a certain belief.

    6. Realize truth may be revealed in increments.

    7. God alone is the Author of truth. If something appears one way, but God’s word shows it a different way, believe God’s truth.

Everyone has perceptions. Be careful what you do with yours.

  • Civil Rebellion

    IMG_7435.JPG

One of my favorite movies is the first National Treasure, with Nicolas Cage. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it. At least a dozen, I’m sure.

I especially like the part where Ben and Riley are looking at the Declaration of Independence, and Ben tells Riley he’s going to steal it.

Ben, reading from the Declaration… “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. –“

Sounds like revolution talk, doesn’t it?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: this nation is a mess. And it appears the government is doing its very best to run every aspect of our lives, whether we like it or not.

So what’s this mean where you and I are concerned? Are we to start another revolution? To listen to some people, that’s exactly what we should do.

I’ve talked with people who say things like, “If the government wants my guns, just let them try and take them.” Really?

    Mr. One Man Army, eh?

I know it may sound a bit like a cliche’, but I’ll say it anyway.

    What would Jesus do?

If the Bible is true, and there are many of you readers who believe it is, then what do we do with scriptures such as:

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.” (Daniel 2:20-22 ESV)

“…to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.” (Daniel 4:17 ESV)

“Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.” (Daniel 4:37 ESV)

    Should we ignore them?

And just in case you don’t care for the Old Testament scriptures, here are a couple from the New Testament:

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” (Romans 13:1-2 ESV)

“Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.” (1 Peter 2:13-15 ESV)

Please keep in mind, when Paul and Peter wrote their letters to the churches, they weren’t saying the government or government officials were right. In fact, if they had been allowed by God to express their opinions about the leaders, they may have been tempted to say how bad things were, and how evil their government was.

As followers of Christ, I believe we have a responsibility to obey God first and foremost. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be patriotic, but the scriptures really don’t advocate patriotism.

Jesus said, “Give to Caesar what belongs to him, and to God that which belongs to Him.” That, in a nutshell means we are to obey the laws of the land, unless they contradict God’s laws.

Should we riot, or take part in a revolution with AR-15’s and the like?

    I say no.

What we ARE to do I’ll refer to as CIVIL REBELLION.

Rebel against the world’s spirit and systems. Rebel against living like every other Tom, Dick, and Harry who complains about the president and every other politician who doesn’t agree with them.

Listen, there are a lot of things happening I don’t like, but I’ve got to rebel against the urge to waste my time moaning with people who, like me, haven’t the slightest idea what it would really take to turn things around.

    Civil Rebellion.

Rebel against letting the world and its opinions squeeze you into its mold.

Vote for candidates who align best with the scriptures. As long as we can vote, we have somewhat of a say.

Pray for the leaders. Maybe, just maybe, God can reach their hearts and minds.

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”  (Proverbs 21:1 NKJV)

Of course, and this may be hard to take, you and I COULD BE ignorant about what’s best for the country. Maybe, huh?

If we say we’re Christ followers, let’s follow Christ. To the polls, to the prayer closet, all the way to CIVIL REBELLION.

It’s best for the nation and for the kingdom of God.

And it’s best for you and I.

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1 – 2:4 ESV)

  • Sex and Love

    IMG_7430.JPG

    SEX.

It’s used to sell clothes, coffee, cars, and sometimes certain celebrities. Or maybe magazines, movies, and makeup.

Some folks just plain use it.

To some, it’s a pry bar, others as a treat for good behavior. Kind of like training a dog to learn a trick; once they get it down they are rewarded with a treat.

Great with dogs. Not so, with people.

It’s been referred to as “making love”, but too often it has nothing to do with love. The old phrase from the 60’s, “Make love not war”, had nothing to do with love and everything to do with sex.

Sex and love are not synonymous terms. They cannot be used interchangeably. At least, they shouldn’t be.

SEX is not the mark of maturity, nor is it a sign of commitment. It should never be used to hold on to a relationship, or as an excuse to leave one.

SEX should be enjoyed as an expression of love between a husband and wife; one of many ways a couple will declare their undying love for their mate throughout their married life.

But SEX should never be the focus in a marriage. A relationship built around sex can have too many opportunities for the enemy’s sabotage.

Sex and love. My, how people have gotten the two jumbled up.

SEX can’t cover a multitude of sins, let alone even one sin.

    But love does.

SEX doesn’t lay itself down for the other, especially in the heat of the moment.

But love does. Love will stop whatever it’s doing for the sake of others.

SEX can be forced, traded, and trafficked.

    Not so with love.

So, try not to get sex and love mixed up. I mean, don’t use one word if you really mean the other.

It is great, though, when sex reflects real love, and when love can be expressed in such holy intimacy.

Sex and love. Part of the Creator’s plan for His best creation.

UNCLE SAM WEEPS by Jan L. Grace

In this land of the free and the home of the brave, Kneels an old ragged man with his banner to wave

    And he weeps,

Holding those Colors, the red white and blue, With hands rough and worn by the pain he’s been through,

    How he weeps,

With tears in his eyes, and an ache in his chest, Remembering the day when his land was so blessed

    Yes, he weeps.

His sons and his daughters had futures so bright, When all could discern ‘tween the wrong and the right

    Hear him weep,

Each child was embraced by a mother and dad, The unborn were safe from the doctors gone bad

    How he weeps,

Uncle Sam weeps for the fatherless child, The widow, the orphan, and a nation gone wild,

    Yes He weeps.

Uncle Sam weeps for the fatherless child, The widow, the orphan, and a nation gone wild,

    Yes He weeps.

There are battles abroad, and hatred within, All due to the color of a man’s skin,

    Hear him weep,

“God Bless this nation”, we’ll sing before games, Then vote to remove the mere hint of God’s name

    How he weeps,

Wrong is now right, and hope’s turned to fear, This progress has come o’er the past 50 years

    Yes he weeps

Our nation’s soldiers, our best of the best, Face an enemy greater than all of the rest,

    And he weeps,

Engaged in a war, not for land, fame, or greed, But because of an ancient, terrorist’s creed,

    How he weeps,

With a lump in his throat, and pain in his heart, He watches his nation be torn apart,

    Yes he weeps

Uncle Sam weeps for the fatherless child, The widow, the orphan, and a nation gone wild,

    Yes He weeps.

The DC Elite and Supreme Court Nine, Turn opinions to law, as his God they malign,

    How he weeps.

Uncle Sam weeps for the fatherless child, The widow, the orphan, and a nation gone wild,

    Yes He weeps.

Uncle Sam bows at the foot of the cross, Lifting hands toward heaven, may all not be lost,

    And he weeps
