The Final Call?

It began as a dream…it became a warning

Is it America’s final call?

America cannot survive another 20 years without a desperate and deliberate move toward God.
He is its only hope. But will the nation give up its idols, or continue to give in to them?

Last year I wrote the book, American Idols, based on a dream I had one night. In the dream I was running through a small town yelling “Tear down your idols! Tear down your idols!”

I was like a mad man, as if I were trying to rescue a child from a burning house.

People would yell at me as I ran by, “What makes you think it’s okay for you to run around getting us all upset?”
I’d reply, without slowing down, “First Samuel Three Twelve! First Samuel Three Twelve! Tear down your idols! Tear down your idols!”

On and on I’d run, screaming as loud as I could to as many as I could find, “Tear down your idols!”

Then I awakened.

The first thing I did was grab my bible and look up the scripture reference I was yelling in my dream.

Here it is:

“On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.” (1 Samuel 3:12 ESV)

It’s the story of young Samuel, as he was staying with Eli the priest. Samuel had gone to sleep but woke to the sound of someone calling his voice, “Samuel, Samuel.” Thinking it was Eli, Samuel went to him and said, “Did you call me?” “No”, was the old man’s reply.

Finally, after three times, Eli recognized it could be the Lord trying to get Samuel’s attention, so he advised Samuel to respond with, “Speak, Lord, for your servant listens”, the next time he heard his name called.

Obediently, Samuel responded to the voice of the Lord. Verse 12 was the first part of the word given to Samuel.

God told Samuel He was going to judge the house of Eli, the priesthood of that day, for several reasons. By judging, God meant He would bring Eli’s authority and influence to an end.

His sons, who shared ministry with their father, were out of control; wicked, lustful, and rebellious men. And Eli didn’t stop them. In fact, he got fat on all the extras his sons would confiscate from the people.

The Lord spoke to my heart and, in essence, told me it’s time for the church, the Body of Christ, to judge themselves, or be judged. Tear down the idols that have replaced true fellowship with Almighty God.

America, like every nation before her, will be judged; but the initial judgment, or correction, must begin with His people.

“For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17 ESV)

I encourage you to get a copy of the book; available in paperback or eBook. American Idols: The Final Call?

American Idols

In my heart, I believe the Lord is trying to get our attention just one more time. May we hear His voice, and respond to His call.

Hidden Enemies (American Idols excerpt)

Life is much more than what our five physical senses reveal. There is a world, hidden from our natural sight, that is actually more real than the one we understand by using our basic senses. A spirit world. It was from this spirit world that God created our natural world.

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11:3).

You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. (Revelation 4:11)

In the spirit world, or the spirit realm, there is both good and evil; but there’s no middle ground, no neutral spirits who just want to get along with everyone. EVERY spirit has an agenda and an assignment from its master.

In a broad sense, the assignments can be summarized as such:

God’s host is assigned to protect his interests; they lead people to life, defend and minister to those who are heirs of salvation. His group is led by love and truth. Righteousness and justice are the foundations of his throne.

The devil’s bunch is charged with protecting his interests; they disrupt unity among God’s people, discourage, discomfit, and deceive wherever possible, and attempt to discredit the integrity of his Enemy. His group is led by hatred and fear. The foundation of his throne is wickedness and injustice.

The devil is the exact opposite of everything God is; the ever consummate adversary. His greatest tools are accusation and deception. Conversely, God’s greatest tool is truth…

…Paul taught that the spirit realm is where the true battles are fought. Conquer the evil influences working in the unseen realm, and victory will become evident for all to see. That’s how it was with the proconsul. He was astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Jesus was referring to an unseen battle ground when he spoke this word to his disciples.

“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.” (Luke 11:21-22)

Understanding the reality of the spirit realm, and the conflict happening between the two unseen kingdoms is necessary if there is to be real change in this great land. Until the controlling spirits hiding behind American Idols are conquered, things will remain as they’ve been; on a downhill slide. Destruction and annihilation will ensue if we don’t heed God’s prophetic warnings…

American Idols (excerpt)

American Idols. Everywhere.

The American Idols I’m referring to aren’t the short, fat Buddha statues sometimes seen in Chinese restaurants. No, the ones I’m speaking of are the objects or ideas we allow to take the place in our lives that should be reserved for God. Things and thoughts we religiously follow and pay homage to; stuff we believe we can’t live without.

It’s not that we don’t believe in God. Oh, no. But when other things and ideas become more important, and God is assigned a lesser role in our lives, idolatry is on the loose.

Many people believe God is too old-fashioned to be relevant in today’s world. Others want nothing to do with him because they are convinced he hates fun.

People have an innate desire to know and worship THE Creator God; the ONE TRUE GOD. It is part of our DNA; it’s who we are. But because of man’s spiritual state, which is the result of Adam’s fall, man characteristically tries to maneuver around God Almighty, and still satisfy his desire to know and worship something. So things, positions, and even people are idolized and enthroned as “god” in their hearts and lives. However, the Creator God must have first place in our lives, or he has NO place.

American Idols. Luring, demanding, yet never able to bring freedom like the One they attempt to replace.
