The spirit of antichrist is becoming more and more prominent.
Lawlessness. “I can pick and choose which laws, if any, I will keep.”
Is it any wonder so many police officers are being targeted and killed?
Lawlessness.
The spirit of the age.
“Oh, brother!”
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1 – 2:12 NKJV)
Yes, there is coming a day when the man known as Antichrist will come on the world scene as, first of all, Mister Fix-It. He’ll bring peace to the nations, and right all the wrongs societies are facing at this time.
However, it’s only a temporary fix.
Mister Fix-It’s true character isn’t one of peace and stability. He’s not interested in anyone’s welfare except his own.
The lawless one. Satan incarnate. The man of sin.
The apostle John made this statement many years ago: “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.” (1 John 2:18 NKJV)
If that was the last hour, I have to believe this is the last part of the last hour.
And I see the spirit of lawlessness pervading throughout this land; this world. From the highest sectors of government, to the thug on the street, lawlessness.
Sure, they obey SOME laws. But only as it suits them. If the law gets in the way of their agenda, forget it.
It’s happening in all areas of our society. Moral lawlessness.
At home, on the job, driving on the highway, within a marriage; if we like the law, or it serves our purpose, we obey.
But we still may be lawless in our heart.
We may agree with God as long as He allows us to do as we please.
But the real test is when He, or someone else stands up to us and says, “No!”
The spirit of antichrist, the spirit of lawlessness, is behind the police shootings, racial tension, LGBT “rights”, and many other societal ills we face today.
It’s even within some of our churches.
The time is later than we’d like to imagine. But like it or not, the Antichrist will appear to a world ready to receive him.
Such an evil dude accepted as a man of peace?
Sure. Why not. Our world is becoming just like him.
Brothers and sisters in Christ: now’s the time to wake up. Shake off any signs of lawlessness that may be part of your life.
For Jesus is coming again.
Don’t be caught up in the spirit of the age.
