“…Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” (Revelation 12:12 ESV)
I know a number of folks won’t agree with me, but that’s alright. I don’t have a lot of time to play around with either political correctness or social correctness.
The fact is, NO ONE has a lot of time to dillydally with their life.
Gone are the promises that everything will work out, no matter what a person does. The “I know this is wrong, but I can repent later” lure is more dangerous than ever.
Friends, you may not have time to break free, or you may become deceived to the point you’ll never want to change.
There is no time left to try and play both sides toward the middle.
What we could get away with in days gone by, well, the cost is higher and the payment plan a lot shorter.
Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed men of God, good friends, drop their guard and flirt with forbidden fruit. Maybe they didn’t do anything illegal or immoral, at first.
Everything was supposedly innocent, but an unguarded heart isn’t a discerning heart.
Trapped by something “innocent”, but guilt, shame, and finally, deception ensued.
And deception has a much stronger grip than addiction.
This is meant to be a warning – a spirit of deception is loose on planet earth. Yes, even in the good old USA!
“Not me! I CAN’T be deceived! I’m a strong Christian.”
I’m so glad you are.
Just don’t drop your guard.
“Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall.” (1 Corinthians 10:12 ESV)
“Lest he fall…” means it is possible to fall. If you and I CAN fall, we can also be deceived into believing everything is A-OK.
Please remember this: time is running out. Keep your heart guarded, keep it built up in God’s Word, and keep it open to correction.
“For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life…” (Proverbs 6:23 ESV)
Don’t let your life end needing more time to get things right with God.
Live your life as if there is NO TIME LEFT.
