It’s Getting Late

Time-management-art“I’m bored.”
“I don’t have anything to do!”
“Honey, we NEED more TV channels.”
“Life isn’t fair! People are making fun of me because I go to church on Sunday.”
“God, You KNOW I must win the lottery! You know my needs. I promise, IF You’ll come through on this one, I will TITHE on the amount after taxes.”
“If I hear another message from that pastor of ours about working in the church, I’m going to leave. I’ve put in my time! It’s time for someone else to do something. And what about him? He only works a few hours a week! I’m too busy, anyway.”

Have YOU given any thought, lately, to how late it is?

Late?

Yes, late. I’m referring to the Lord’s end time clock.

Why did you just roll your eyes at me?

Like it or not, prepared or not, believe it or not; time keeps ticking, the world keeps turning, and seasons come and go. People come and go, babies are born, others expire; life keeps going through the motions.

But with each passing second we step just a bit closer to the end of the age.

“But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.”

This is a small representation of the nations at war today. The U.N. reports approximately 134 nations/states are involved in war/conflict. The following criteria is used in configuring their report.
1. It must involve armed struggle by at least one province against another.
2. It must be formally declared as such
3. It has existed for at least 6 months.

Every continent, with the exception of Antarctica, is involved in some sort of conflict or war.

There were approximately 100 measurable earthquakes in the world within the last 24 hours. http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/?view=1

As I said, like it or not, believe it or not, the world is racing toward its end. No one can stop it. No amount of legislature can slow it down. Terrorists can try to intimidate it, and politicians can debate it. Preachers may ignore it, and the United Nations can stand against it. All in vain.

Just because it hasn’t happened yet is no reason to ignore the signs.

As it was in the days of Noah…
“Rain? What’s that, Noah? Man, you’re a nut! And what are you doing with all these animals? Look how they’re tearing up the neighborhood. Someone’s gonna have to pay for this!”

As it was when Lot left Sodom and Gomorrah…
“Hey, honey? Have you read the paper today? Looks like it’s going to be a hot day! Someone said it’s going to be hot as hell. Said they could smell sulfur in the air. Oh, and by the way, I see in the wedding announcement’s column that Frank and Steve are finally getting hitched. It’s about time they settle down. And hey, here’s an interesting bit of news: a couple of strangers visited that guy named Lot last night. Apparently it was quite a scene when all the neighbors showed up to help welcome the guys. Quite a ruckus, I guess. But boys will be boys!”

We can’t stop the day from arriving. But we CAN prepare for it.

Connect with the Living Savior, Jesus, by turning from our ways unto His. “Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:7

Already “connected”? Then let’s get our head out of the proverbial sand, drop the “life isn’t fair, everyone’s picking on me” attitude, and connect with the Lord’s work – His mission – to seek and save those who are lost. That ought to keep us busy and out of trouble, don’t you think?
