I Hate Cancer

I hate cancer!

Cancer: a malignant tumor of potentially unlimited growth that expands locally by invasion and systemically by metastasis (which is the spread of a disease-producing agency (as cancer cells) from the initial or primary site of disease to another part of the body; also : the process by which such spreading occurs).

An evil, malevolent tumor of unlimited potential growth that expands by invasion…

An evil tumor. An abnormal new growth of tissue that possesses no physiological function. Something that draws life and energy from that which it’s attached itself to. It serves no benevolent purpose. It steals nutrition, kills good cells, and destroys any resemblance of life.

Cancer isn’t just a disease in a body, but a hellish disease that affects people’s thoughts and attitudes, causing the destruction of relationships.

I hate cancer! I hate what it does to the human body! I hate what it does, and has done to people I love. It is such a self-centered disease; always taking, but never giving anything good in return. It steals a person’s health, leaving only infirmity and decay. It robs people of their present, and leaves no hope for their future.

I hate cancer!

I hate it when cancerous words are released in families! Malevolent words that steal joy, kill ambitions and dreams, and destroy relationships. I hate to see families fight over who gets their parent’s approval. It’s natural for young children to vie for attention. But it is a cancerous, phycological disease that drives adults to compete for their parent’s limited blessing. And it’s a sick mind that would demand that their children compete! Cancerous words and actions; just malignant growths that poison everyone they can latch onto.

I hate cancer!

I hate the affect it has on the Body of Christ! Cancer in the Body of Christ? Yes, a cancerous tumor. It could also be spelled r-u-m-o-r, or g-o-s-s-i-p. Words that take on a life of their own, that serve only to infect various parts of the body in evil ways. Eventually the infections can make it necessary to amputate a certain body part to keep the rest of the body healthy. And though the Body of Christ still lives, it cannot function as it did before.

I hate cancer!

I hate how it has controlled the human race all these years, ever since Adam. The cancer of sin, mankind’s claim to greatness, their determination to be great, live a full life, without their Creator’s assistance. The cancer that blinds the spiritual eyes of boys and girls, men and women, keeping them from the only One Who has ever really loved them!

I hate cancer!

And so does God!

But HE has an answer for it!

“Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel, I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live.” (Ezekiel 18:31-32 NLT)

“For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17 NLT)

“Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations. No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there – no need for lamps or sun – for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:1-5 NLT)

Cancer is such a hideous disease. There is no such thing as good cancer. But cancer need not have the final word; or make the final play. Your hope and future need not yield to cancer of any kind.

Not when Jesus is still the same, yesterday, today, and forever.

He’s hated cancer, he hates it now, and cancer WILL NOT last forever!

Yet His love for you, the love He’s always had for you, WILL!
